In 2017, Dr. Johansen performed in excess of 1,000 surgeries and not a single patient experienced an infection – that’s ZERO infections in a full calendar year.

R. Lance Johansen, MD, is a highly trained board certified orthopaedic surgeon located in Gulfport, MS. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1994, followed by a Residency at the University of South Alabama and a Fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute. With over twenty years’ experience, Dr. Johansen has obtained an excellent reputation amongst his peers in the medical community as well as the patients he treats. Now, through medical advancements in the field of regenerative medicine, Dr. Johansen can treat his patients utilizing techniques previously unavailable.

Kelly Mask

Nurse Practitioner

Kelly received her Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1999. As an RN, Kelly specialized in both in-patient psychiatric nursing and medical-surgical nursing.

Kelly returned to school to obtain her Master’s Degree in 2004. She graduated from University of South Alabama in 2006 as a Family Nurse Practitioner and became nationally board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2007.

Kelly has been providing Nurse Practitioner services since that time. Her Nurse Practitioner experiences include Primary Care for an Employee Health Clinic, Primary Care for a Family Practice Clinic with the Military, and Primary Care in Women’s Health. These experiences have given her a wide range of medical knowledge and experience in her field of Family Practice. As a new team member at the Mississippi Orhtopaedic Institute, Kelly now looks forward to servicing the Orthopedic needs of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
